A source of inspiration
Audrey Kawasaki had always been my inspiration. Her painting on wood are fantastic and she really brought out the emotion and expression of her girls.
I love this particular piece from Audrey Kawasaki because it really depicts me, who I am and how I feel. Like there is constantly someone so close inside me, could she be my source inspiration? or downfall? Who knows..

Sketchwalk 2012
My first sketchwalk in 2012, I joined the urban sketchers to the Feburary sketching location at Siglap. It was great, the weather wasn't too hot either.
I sketched a panoramic view of the shop houses at Siglap.
Here is the link to the Urban Sketchers Singapore facebook page and website just in case you want to join in for a day of sightseeing and sketching!

The great come back
I've been MIA for more than a year. Yes I know, plenty had happened that caused me to neglect work and my blog.
I stopped sketching for a few months last year and I actually felt like I'm missing something. But I managed to pick my pen and paper up again and now I'm back!
well enough talk, here are some recent sketch and doodles that I did
Yes I know you are wondering whats with the gory red blood stains, I don't remember what I was thinking when I did those.. I assure you its not paint, not real blood.
I even painted a tote bag.
During my MIA period I started illustrating my friend's pets and framing them up for a cost.
But I stopped after a couple of months as its too time consuming for me and I had to concentrate on other works.
Each portrait is painted digitally with photoshop brushes, I painted every strand of hair with care to bring out the texture and contrast.
Here is a picture of Cody the Pembroke Welsh Corgi beside his portrait. His owner wanted his painting printed on stretched canvas.
This is Parco, my Uncle's dog who passed away peacefully of old age last year. I did a portrait of Parco for his family and framed it myself.
Here is a glimpse of the process before delivery
Last but not least, my happy clients are their doggy portrait!
Miko the Pembroke Welsh Corgi and her portriat
Ginger the pembroke welsh corgi and her portrait
Lastly my own dog Barney looking very pleased beside his portrait.
